Apprenticeship program to drive careers in forestry

The Logging Investigation and Training Association (LITA Training) is delivering a driver operations apprenticeship program to skill five new employees for forestry careers in the state’s South East.

Participants will undertake a Certificate III in Driving Operations and Heavy Combination truck training with a host employer, local contractor Tabeel Trading Nominees (TTN), allowing them to operate semi-trailers and learn on the job.

Participating apprentices are guaranteed work through a Group Training Organisation, Group Training Employment, throughout their two years of study. Upon completing their qualification, each will be offered ongoing employment with Tabeel Trading Nominees.

Mount Gambier-based training provider LITA Training has over 40 years’ experience equipping the local workforce with a range of forestry skills, and this project will drive careers in harvest and haulage.
