Associate Professional IT Career Pathway project
Up to 40 traineeships will be delivered in a new project with national IT services business DXC Technology (DXC).
The $214,000 Skilling South Australia project will boost IT industry capability and its workforce flexibility.
The two stage Associate Professional IT career pathway will offer 20 students a Certificate IV in Information Technology at TAFE SA with practical work experience at DXC’s new Digital Transformation Centre.
Students who successfully complete Certificate IV can continue on to a two-year Diploma traineeship under a training contract at the Adelaide Computer Support and Service Centre.
This is an innovative model of learning developed in close partnership with the IT sector, which has traditionally avoided vocational education and training. These traineeships have all the benefits of the traditional apprenticeships and traineeships: paid learning, workplace experience, mentoring and connection into a network of industry contacts, leading to skilled careers through a higher-level traineeship as an IT professional.
