Civil construction traineeships in Monarto Zoo expansion
Twenty-five job seekers will gain civil construction traineeships through an innovative training project involving the Wild Africa expansion project at Monarto Zoo.
Participants will undertake a Certificate II in Civil Construction while contributing to the growth of an iconic South Australian tourist attraction.
Led by the Civil Contractors Federation with Zoos SA, the project will see:
36 participants undertake pre-vocational courses, equipping them with a range of skills and experience to ensure the career is right for them
25 of the participants go on to undertake traineeships.
Developed in consultation with the Governor’s Aboriginal Employment Industry Clusters Program, the project includes 20 Aboriginal participants.
The State Government has provided more than $500,000 funding for the project including accredited training, non-accredited training, mentoring, and equipment hire.
