Cutting red tape

The South Australian Government has introduced new procurement guidelines to create more employment and training opportunities for young South Australians.

The Skilling South Australia Procurement Guideline is replacing the Workforce Participation in Government Construction Procurement Policy.

In addition to cutting unnecessary red tape for employers, the new guideline will ensure that apprentices and trainees account for 15 percent of labour hours, as a recommended requirement for projects worth more than $50 million.
