Generating Regional Traineeships and Apprenticeships Project

Underway

Fifteen businesses in the Barossa region will receive a tailored support package to help them employ an apprentice or trainee for the first time and grow their business.

The Generating Regional Traineeships and Apprenticeships project is a pilot program that will support 15 people to begin apprenticeships or traineeships with local small businesses.

Through the project, businesses will access the region’s Business 2 Business (B2B) network, including professional practitioners, such as workforce development agents, accountants and legal practitioners which will help them become ready to employ an apprentice.

The project, led by Regional Development Australia (RDA) Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains, will support businesses to consider their skills needs and assist with business planning.

The Business to Business network is funded by RDA and Local Government partners. The South Australian Government has provided more than $57,000 funding for the RDA to deliver the project, including support through business engagement and project management as well as extending access to the B2B program and networking event
