Skilling Construction in the Fleurieu and Hills Project
At least ten jobseekers will gain employment as civil construction apprentices thanks to a collaboration between several local councils spanning the Fleurieu Peninsula and Adelaide Hills regions.
The Skilling South Australia project, which will be delivered by Maxima in partnership with TAFE SA, thanks to a $67,000 investment from the State Government.
A collaboration of councils led by the District Council of Yankalilla and including Alexandrina Council, Mount Barker District Council, City of Victor Harbor and City of Onkaparinga have carried out their mission to support regional development while ensuring the sustainability of their own workforces
Altogether, 12 participants will undergo a pre-apprenticeship program giving them the background knowledge and fundamental skills to succeed from their first day on the job, with at least 10 continuing on to a formal apprenticeship and working towards a Certificate III in Civil Construction, Horticulture or Carpentry.
