Supporting tourism careers in regional SA
An apprenticeship-ready course will prepare 20 Eyre Peninsula jobseekers for careers in the state’s thriving regional tourism sector.
The program aims to:
-
support participants into full-time apprenticeships in regional South Australia
-
encourage business owners to take on apprentices
-
boost the number of skilled employees in the state’s growing tourism industry
-
increase South Australia’s visitor economy, particularly in the state’s regions.
The Tourism Industry Council of South Australia (TiCSA) is working with TAFE SA to deliver the eight-week apprenticeship pathway training.
To complement the project, TiCSA will hold state-wide business development workshops that will:
-
promote training opportunities and the benefits of hiring apprentices
-
have representatives from Group Training Organisations, Registered Training Organisations and the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network who will contribute to workshops and help employers navigate the apprenticeship system.
