What Skilling South Australia means for training providers

A new Building Capability Framework will boost training provider capability and capacity to train apprentices.


In 2019, a series of professional development events and activities will be available to registered training organisations to support and inspire excellence and best practice in training, assessment and educational leadership.

  • Regular training provider forums to foster networks between registered training organisations, professional groups, industry and government.

  • Communities of practice to develop foundation skills, assessment and compliance.

  • A masterclass series to deepen skills and knowledge in workplace assessment, applying the Australian Core Skills Framework, e-learning, and action-based and project-based learning methodologies.

  • Monthly meetings and webinars on key aspects of teaching, learning and facilitation, including learning issues, evidence and mapping.

  • Support to strengthen RTO operations, including workshops in organisational culture, management, marketing, mental health awareness and accredited courses, and subsidised access to business mentors.

  • Capability development funding for short-term projects in research and development, develop accredited courses and innovative training approaches.

  • Access more than 700 subsidised apprenticeship and traineeship qualifications on the Subsidised Training List.

  • Get support for innovative projects that boost apprenticeships and traineeships through Skilling South Australia Projects.

  • Be allocated training places through Skilling South Australia Quotas (for non-government training providers).

  • Encourage any eligible student to take up an apprenticeship or traineeship, regardless of their prior learning.
