Upskilling SA’s regional mining industry
Thirty-five workers in one of South Australia’s largest industries will upskill through a bespoke traineeship program, combining a Certificate III qualification with work at the world’s largest zircon mine.
Around half of all project participants identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Iluka Resources has partnered with TAFE SA and Apprenticeship Network Provider MEGT to upskill staff at their South Australian Jacinth-Ambrosia site, with the project aiming to:
form part of the business’s workforce plan to improve performance and retention rates
recommence the business’s traineeship program and sustain this in a remote location support positive employment outcomes for SA’s far west community.
